Coffee and cola are addictive

A study by the John Hopkins Medical Institute has claimed that caffeine is the “most behaviourally active drug” with even a single cup of coffee a day producing “caffeine addiction.”

The study, led by Roland Giffiths, Professor, Psychiatry and Neuroscience, found that caffeine withdrawal causes “genuine mental disorder”.

Prof Griffiths said that what applied to coffee applied equally to any soft drink containing caffeine.
