Doctors do not have to cut a woman to safely deliver her child when the baby is stuck during delivery, US research suggests.
A study from Johns Hopkins University found physical manoeuvring of the baby alone was better than also cutting the mother to widen the birth canal.
The babies suffered fewer shoulder injuries and their mothers avoided unnecessary trauma.
