Energy Drain - How to Turn Wastewater Into Electricity

One day, when you flush a toilet or rinse those dirty dinner dishes, you could be doing more than just washing waste down the drain. Soon you could be helping to produce watts of energy for your home and those in your neighborhood.

The bits of food and other organic material that end up in most local wastewater could contain enough energy to power small towns. Researchers are trying to figure out how to capture every last drop of that potential power.
